Love Like Dawson

#LoveLikeDawson

Dawson's love is unconditional, it is loyal, it is forgiving, it is warm, it is free.

Dawson: A Life of Faith, Creativity, and Kindness

Dawson was in a good place in life and looking forward to what lay ahead. He was preparing to begin his next semester at Riverside City College, where he was pursuing his studies with purpose and optimism. He had also secured a sports marketing internship for the upcoming summer—an opportunity he was genuinely excited about and proud of.

He deeply loved his job as a lifeguard at the Fontana Aquatics Center, where his impact went far beyond the pool deck. In addition to keeping others safe, Dawson coached young children in water polo, patiently teaching skills while encouraging confidence and teamwork. He had a natural ability to connect with people, especially kids, and brought joy, kindness, and laughter wherever he went.

Faith was an important part of Dawson’s life. He had a strong foundation in Christ and attended Water of Life Church with our family every Sunday. That faith was active and growing. Dawson was planning to join an overseas missions trip with Water of Life in the summer of 2017, eager to serve others and live out what he believed. He and his friends regularly encouraged one another to deepen their walk with God, holding each other accountable.

Many people may not have known about Dawson’s deep passion for art and music. He was a sensitive soul and a deep feeler who expressed himself creatively through music. He wrote and played his own songs, often spending time discovering new artists on SoundCloud or quietly strumming his guitar as he worked through a new melody. Music was one of the ways Dawson processed the world and shared his heart.

Dawson lived with intention, compassion, and creativity. He was moving forward with hope, faith, and excitement—and his presence continues to be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.
